On November 9th - 11th 2007 PARA delegates - { Al Rollans, Linda Rollans, A.L.Lucketta and Kelly West } - traveled to Sacramento to join other CRA Units for the CRA's 73rd Presidential Endorsing Convention.

This CRA Convention, not unlike others in the past, was filled with many speakers, legislators, campaigners and convention booths - hocking their political wears.

As PARA was joined by other units in the surrounding areas and districts, we discussed each others activities and growth and came to find out that our unit might possibly be within the top 10 biggest units in the state ... according to the results of the last Convention. Much to our suprise, and when all the members and delegates were counted -- PARA had become the 5th largest CRA Unit in the State. And that was reason alone to celebrate.

At the beginning of the Endorsing Convention, PARA was 80% sure that we were going to endorse Congressman Ron Paul for President. On Sunday, we were 100% sure of our endorsement and cast our votes for him. Others were bussed in to vote for Mitt Romney - we are sorry to say - and stole the endorsement. There was two votes taken and the last was just about as close as you can get without having to going into a third vote -- which would have been a secret ballot type vote.

Many of the conventionaires at this gathering were new - as it turned out - and only came to support their candidates. Obvious to the tried and true, some came to stack the deck for their candidate on Sunday, as they never bothered to join the rest of us on Friday and Saturday.

And just so you know -- The speakers at this convention were amazing ! Allen Keyes, as always, brings the house down and not a moment too late. And as you can tell from the pictures, we were blessed enough to glean a few private moments with Ambassador Keyes.

Speaking of speakers - too many to name - many had chose to speak about the issue of gangs in America, especially in California. Well ... you know that was right up our ally and boy did we have a few things to share with these speakers and legislators about gangs. Yes ... many were surprised by Mr. Lucketta's knowledge and wanted to know more about Gang Watchers - so he told them all.

"By this time next year, President West proclaimed, our unit should be in the top 3 and if we get out and hussle a little bit with new memberships, we just might be the larget CRA Unit in the State."
